ABOUT MWM

History Rooted in Quality

History

Midwest Welding & Manufacturing (MWM) has been a family owned and operated small business for over 75 years in Reeseville, WI.

In 1945, three brothers started Jakel Company as a welding, repair, and blacksmith shop. Shortly after its founding, the company ventured into the plumbing and heating industry, and then began to supply and install feed mill equipment to local mills and grain facilities. In the 1960s their main focus shifted to the agricultural industry and they began fabricating and selling their own brand of feed and grain equipment. Recognizing a need for quality bulk feed body trucks, Jakel Company designed, built, and sold their first Jakel truck in 1969. Since then, the company has built over 800 feed trucks that have made their way all over the country.

In 2003, the Jakel family sold the business to Jon Schrock who changed the name to Midwest General Repair & Fabrication (MGRF). Continuing the legacy of the Jakels, Jon focused on serving the agricultural industry by fabricating, installing, and repairing grain handling equipment as well as preserving the feed body department.

After 20 years as the owner, Jon sold the business to Jay “Zoom” Neuman in 2022 who is a grandson of the original Jakel family. Zoom is an energetic leader and has many years of experience in the industry.

MWM has continued to focus its efforts into honing skills and expertise in the areas of design, fabrication, and repair of feed and grain equipment. Always looking for new opportunities, MWM has also led projects in various fields such as custom welding, construction materials, food processing, agronomy, ethanol plants, and power plants. While MWM strives to enter new markets, we remain committed to helping local farmers and customers with their smaller projects. We look forward to serving you!
